Dr. Seo presents how a Clostridium cocultutre can achieve 'carbon-neutral' and 'carbon-negative' sugar fermentation for selective isopropanol production. The research is based on his postdoc project funded by Department of Energy ARPA-E program. Dr. Seo discusses the observed cell-to-cell material transfers and ongoing investigations to measure direct electron transfer.
