Antonio Galisteo
Antonio Galisteo is an undergraduate student in Chemical and Biochemical Engineering at the University of Iowa. He is driven to explore the fields' seemingly limitless potential for creativity and constant innovation and enjoys expanding upon new ideas. He is especially interested in understanding microbiological behavior and the ways that the practice can be used to address sustainability concerns, working with ideas such as biodegradable plastics and collaboration for a larger industrial scale plastic production process. Currently, he is working closely with researchers and professors from the University of Iowa Chemistry and Electrical Engineering department to create and optimize a process for cadaverine biosynthesis by genetically modified bacteria.
